Vodafone leads the growth of pay television customers in Spain
The operator reaches 1,564,000 customers, with growth for the sixth consecutive quarter, and maintains its position as the largest television platform with more than 140,000 integrated content.
The customer base of Vodafone TV grew by 46,000 in the third quarter (October-December 2020) without football and reaches 1,564,000 clients in Spain. This data also represents the sixth consecutive quarter of growth in TV customers.
This sustained growth confirms that the operator's strategy, focused on offering the largest catalog of quality movies and series, is the right one, and has been reinforced with the new “Boxless” TV proposal that eliminates the need for a decoder to access the contents.
Vodafone TV has already surpassed 140,000 contents available in your offer. During this fiscal year, Vodafone TV has included more than 20,000 new content focused especially on films and series, with content such as Planet Horror, AMC Selekt, Eurosport Player, Acorn TV, specializing in British series or the most recent addition of ATRESplayer Premium.
In this way, the platform closed 2020 with 4,000 active series, with more than 92,000 episodes, and 22,000 movies available. Never before has a platform combined so much indexed, categorized and ordered content in such a way that the user can access them in a simple and fast way.
Another pillar of Vodafone TV's strategy focuses on presenting the user with an advanced platform with the most in-demand functionalities. In recent months, the Vodafone TV app has been integrated into new devices such as Fire Stick, or new television models such as Xiaomi TV or TCL.
Additionally, in November 2020, Vodafone launched Átika, a device that integrates the voice control functionalities of Vodafone TV, premium sound quality and integrated with Amazon Alexa, with responses on the customer's own television. It is the first speaker that an operator sells in the Spanish market and that combines all these functionalities in a single device.
