Avolites aims to revolutionize lighting control with its new flagship Diamond 9 console

Avolites launched its new flagship console today Diamond 9 in two versions D9-330 and D9-215. The new lighting controllers inspire creative control for lighting, broadcast and audiovisual production designers, allowing them to create, program and control their best performances.
Diamond 9 consoles are the result of years of technical innovation by the Avolites team, drawing on 45 years of experience, drawing on input from industry-renowned designers and award-winning industrial designers to create the ultimate control platform.
The Diamond series is designed by visual designers, for visual designers and all those related to the audiovisual world, integrating lighting and image as well as other visual aspects of a show. Every screen, fader, encoder and button has been meticulously thought out, making the console an extension of the designer to give you unhindered creative freedom to create the ultimate show.
Contributing a Distinctive new look to the console, the main front panels are designed from a single sheet of aluminum with high-end finishes and elegant appearance. The D9-330 features 11 ultra-bright touch screens, including 3 main workspace screens, 3 for audiovisual preview, and dedicated screens for attribute control and softkey shortcuts. The renowned integrated backlit keyboard also returns.
The most interesting side of the D9 is the right, with 5 encoder wheels, a T-bar to control the masters, and a new set of custom buttons carefully placed to make finding them second nature.
Natural programming
Tom Campbell (MIRRAD), production and lighting designer, comments that “I had the privilege of using the D9-215 in January 2020. The experience was fantastic. Programming still felt natural and familiar, but with huge improvements in hardware that allowed for a smoother, faster and more enjoyable programming experience. The key differences go far beyond aesthetics; provide an integration of much more intuitive audiovisual control for lighting designers in all industry sectors. Building on Synergy, launched in October 2019, which enables seamless integration between media server and lighting control, the D9 puts operation at your fingertips, with an intuitive layout and layouts ideal for playback and media control. With the increasing use of video walls in live performances, installations and even television productions, it is vital to create seamless, immersive lighting and video performance.
On the other hand, it should be noted that the new logo D9's Avolites logo marks the first significant change to the logo since the company's creation in 1976. It reflects the future-oriented strategic direction of the company, while underlining Avolites' creative approach to lighting and design media.
