Trece TV achieves high-quality live connections from any smartphone using LiveU's Go Plan
This solution supplied by SDI allows collaborators and presenters to bond via Wifi and 4G connection with excellent quality from any location.
Due to the health restrictions derived from the pandemic coronavirus COVID-19, TV is on has put in place a plan to ensure that its collaborators and interviewees can contribute from any location with high quality.
Para ello, SDI has provided Trece TV with the solution Go Plan y LU Smart of LiveU for the contribution of the chronicles.
With the LU-Smart application it is possible to transmit video and audio through any smartphone or tablet, compatible with iOS and Android devices.
The advantage that the Smart solution provides is that I could do bonding with both the WiFi of the intervener's home and the 4G connection. In this way, a very high quality is achieved compared to other home video conferencing systems that are being used these days.
The journalist can transmit the images captured with his own smartphone live to the channel's production center. To do this, LU-Smart bonds the different data SIMs of the phone (which may even be operated by different operators) and the WIFI connection, to achieve optimal video quality.
At this moment, LU-Smart connects to the LiveU reception servers, LU2000 existing in the center, and is incorporated into the LiveU ecosystem, with full control through LU Central.
Once the LU-Smart license has been purchased, any smartphone or tablet can be activated in LU Central using the code that the journalist or collaborator will receive that allows the app to be downloaded from the Apple Store or Play Store.
In LU Central the device will appear with its corresponding name, just like the rest of the transmitting units. In this way, the control is the same that a backpack receives within the ecosystem.
Operators can combine available networks to provide connection support to an external MiFi, allowing the linking of two cellular connections on a single smartphone. This way, users can link the phones internal 3G/4G with the external 3G/4G for a really fast uplink.
SDI markets this agile proposal for contributions in of the modalities: acquiring the license for a smartphone or tablet; or through the Go Plan service, with an unlimited number of licenses renewable every twelve months with simultaneous transmissions, as many as reception channels are available. In the latter case, the channel will only pay for data traffic, highlighting that only data sent “on air” through the SDI output of the LU2000 Server/Receiver are counted.
