Soundware and Audinate demonstrate in Madrid the potential of the Dante protocol in broadcast environments
Raúl Marín, commercial director of Soundware Media, highlights in this video-interview, that although since its development Dante has always been very present in live environments, now it has burst into broadcast by facilitating the deployment of audio on the network in a flexible and simple way.
Audinate and Soundware, the sound division of Datos Media, have organized on October 2 and 3 in the Ciudad de la Imagen (Madrid) a conference that has had the Dante protocol as the protagonist.
For two days, the professionals have been able to obtain the official Audinate certification from level 1 to level 3 (unprecedented level in face-to-face mode), in addition to being able to learn first-hand about all the latest Audinate solutions and products from other brands with the demos that will be developed during the event.
Soundware has showcased the full potential of Dante by showcasing some of the latest third-party solutions such as Avid, Yamaha, Steinberg Studer, NTP, Genelec or Shure, which get the most out of this protocol.
On the part of Yamaha, popular consoles shown Nuage, Rivage PM10 and CL5, as well as various solutions that facilitate the deployment of Dante-based networks such as the I/O rack Rio3224-D2; network switches such as SWP1-16MMF, SWP1-8MMF; RSio64-D, an audio interface that can convert between Dante and Mini-YGDAI formats up to a total of 64 inputs; or the Tio1608-D, an I/O rack with 16 micro/line inputs and 8 output lines. On the part of Studer, the potential of the console was exhibited View Vwhereas Shure has shown its digital wireless microphone system AXT 600 and AXT 900.
NTP Technology has demonstrated the possibilities of its new generation of audio routers and audio distribution interfaces such as Penta 720.
As it could not be otherwise, Avid It has also been very present with the new and versatile audio interface Pro Tools MTRX for Pro Tools HDX and HD Native.
Finally, Genelec study monitors have been used in the conferences, specifically the popular ones 8341 and 8331 from his The Ones Series.
It should be noted that Dante is a combination of software, hardware, and network protocols that allows working with multichannel, uncompressed, and low-latency digital audio over an Ethernet network using IP (Layer 3) packets. It was developed in 2006 by Audinate and since then it has revolutionized audio transmission over Ethernet, leaving previous proposals such as CobraNet or EtherSound almost forgotten.
As he points out, Raúl Marín, commercial director of Soundware Media, in this video-interview, although Dante has always been very present in live environments since its development, it has now burst into broadcast by facilitating the deployment of networked audio in a flexible and simple way.
