Broad Service actualiza a HD los estudios del Centro de Producción Audiovisual de la Universidad CEU-UCH de Valencia

Broad Service Technical Support has carried out the updating and improvement of the facilities that the CEU Cardenal Herrera University has on its campus in Alfara del Patriarca (Valencia). In the jump to high definition, Broad Service and CEU have opted for two SAM Kula 2 M/E mixers, Grass Valley, with 1 SME and 36 inputs + 18 outputs, one Vega 400 hybrid matrix modular with audio processing, and an MV-820 multiscreen. The integration philosophy of this equipment, along with that of the rest of the installation, has been to achieve the maximum flexibility, so that both studios and sets can share resources, expanding and transferring cameras, player and ingest servers and other sources from one to the other depending on the teaching needs of the moment.

Thanks to the total integration of the different new and pre-existing elements designed by Broad Service, these complex configuration changes are accessible to all users – whether technicians, teachers or students – from simple computer interfaces or simple clicks on panels.

For him technical monitored, essential from both a professional and teaching point of view, the CCU positions now have the reference of individual LM8018 units, and the engineering control position with a double monitor model LM7509, all of Kroma by AEQ, which in addition to their reliability and quality provide useful tools such as waveform superposition, vectorscope, VU meters and phasimeters for audio monitoring, among others.

On the other hand, and aware of the growing importance of graphics and computer-generated environments, Broad Service has integrated two workstations into CEU-UCH for each Aston character generators and one for sets virtuales Infinity Set of Brainstorm, present in top-level national and international television installations.

Regarding sound, the UCH enters fully into the world of IP transmission, already extended in the broadcast field, with the Dante standard of Audinate, thanks to its implementation by certified Broad Service technicians.

This evolution, undertaken through a series of AEQ equipment, Yamaha and Audinate itself, links the audio to both video systems (thanks to the VEGA matrix's ability to embed and de-embed and input and output MADI digital audio) and to intercom systems, in which a Crossnet matrix 72, with its interweaving of analogue, digital and AoIP audio, becomes the new core of the system.

In this way, in addition to the new and very extensive possibilities of interconnection between controls, sets (reinforced by the incorporation of the AEQ Xplorer series beltpacks, which by making use of the University's own Wi-Fi network allow total mobility throughout the facilities), radio and recording studios, the future possibility of output to the corporate Dante audio network is also opened. With this, added to the integration with the house's IP telephony system provided by the new Venus 3 audiocodec, the growth options are practically endless, being able to join any point on the campus for the transmission and reception of sound at discretion and at the service of multiple needs: conferences, concerts, external contributions, and a whole diversity of events...
