Therón is at the helm of this comedy after directing 'Es por tu bien', the third highest-grossing Spanish film of 2017, and 'Lo dejo cuando quiera', the highest-grossing film so far this year in Spanish cinema.

Operación Camarón

Operation Shrimp, comedy directed by Carlos Therón and starring Julián López, Natalia de Molina, Carlos Librado and Miren Ibarguren, has begun filming in different locations in Seville and Cádiz, which will last until June 23.

It has the special collaboration of Paco Tous in a cast that completes Antonio Dechent, Alberto López, Julián Villagrán, Canco Rodríguez, Adelfa Calvo, Manuel Burque, Juanlu González and Xisco González.

Theron is at the helm of this comedy after directing It's for your good, third highest-grossing Spanish film of 2017, and I leave it whenever I want, the highest-grossing film so far this year in Spanish cinema after leading the box office in its first two weekends.

The guion has been written by Josep Gatell and Manuel Burque (It's for your good), based on the Italian film Song é Napule. Directed by brothers Antonio and Marco Manetti, it was the revelation film in Italy in 2013 after winning three Donatello awards.

The film features Sebas, a rookie cop who goes undercover as a keyboardist in Los Lolos, a tacky flamenco-trap band that goes to play at the wedding of a local drug dealer's daughter. The original songs will be performed by Riki Rivera, winner of the Goya for Best Original Song in 2015 for El Niño.

It has a first-rate production team, in which the Art Director Clara Notari (Pain and Glory, Wild Tales), the Director of Photography Sergi Gallardo (El Olivo, ThiMai, heading to Vietnam), Production Director Manuela Ocón (The Plague, the Marshland) and the editor Carolina Martínez Urbina (Regression, Agora).

Operation Shrimp is produced by Telecinco Cinema, La Pepa y la Pepa, Lazona Films y Quexito Films as associate producers and the participation of Mediaset España and Movistar+. The film, which is scheduled to be released in theaters in spring 2020, will be distributed by Buena Vista International.
