Media Excel, À Punt's coding platform at Fallas 2019
At Fallas 2019, À Punt successfully tests a multi-CDN experience with simultaneous publications to its website and the pool signal to a special website dedicated to broadcasting these holidays.
Since the launch last year of its new multimedia platform, regional television À Punt has been using the coding systems of the American company Media Excel. Based in Texas, it has solutions of cOTT cross-platform odification for Live, VOD, and transcoding with clients such as Disney, MTV, Akamai, Sky, Vodafone, LG or Huawei, among others.
Crosspoint, a company that distributes Media Excel products in Spain and integrates the multimedia platform of Valencian television, was the in charge of commissioning the Hero Live encoders, as part of its comprehensive OTT solution together with other manufacturers such as Ooyala (OVP) and Konodrac (Big Data and Analytics), with Posts in multiple windows: web, mobile applications, Apple TV, HbbTV and Smart TVs.
Á Punt's coding platform is composed of two Hero Live H5 servers. DS7.4SDI that work in redundant mode to service the publication of Two 24×7 video and radio channels and 2 channels added for special events such as failures and other events. In addition, in the case of Fallas 2019, a multi-CDN experience has been successfully tested with simultaneous publications to the À Punt website and the pool signal to a special website dedicated to broadcasting these festivities.
The coding quality of the Media Excel equipment has been very well received by users of the platform who enjoy top-notch streaming from the web of the Valencian regional association, as well as on the different devices of the platform.
Media Excel will be present at the next edition of NAB in Las Vegas, showing their Latest developments including capabilities such as coding CMAF ULL (Ultra Low Latency), the flows Live to VOD and VOD to Live with Virtual Playout, 4K and HEVC encoding and transcoding, and the real-time conversion of DVB-Subs bitmap to textamong others.
