Grupo Expreso Sonora begins its radio adventure with AEQ equipment and Dante technology

The project, fully integrated with AEQ equipment, simplifies the operation, centralizes resources, ensures the integrity of the contents and optimizes costs.

Sonora Express Group, a pioneer and leader in print and digital media in the state of Sonora, Mexico, has embarked on the adventure of the world of radio with the acquisition of two frequencies in the cities of Guaymas and Navojoa.

Luis Felipe Romandía, managing Director; together with Cynthia Sanchez, administration; Cesar Mendivil, engineering; Cesar Reyna, office manager AEQ Extra México; and the authorized distributor of AEQ, Group Ten Technology, proposed a project where the generation of content on both frequencies could be centralized from the central facilities of Grupo Expreso, located in the city of Hermosillo. Once the content is generated, it will be sent via codecs to Guaymas and Navojoa in real time and high quality.

Furthermore, it was necessary interconnect the broadcast and production booths to share content or add signals from different locations. To do this, it was decided to integrate a Dante network that would allow these scenarios to be solved in a simple way.

The system of AEQ AudioPlus automation, con Dante virtual cards It is intended for the issuance and management of content. Four broadcast licenses have been installed (two for Guaymas and two for Navojoa), as well as three production licenses for the intake, recording and generation of musical and advertising guidelines.

The system's content emission mode works in two ways: manual, when there are operators during working hours; and automatic, which emits the contents by date and time control.

For audio processing, two were selected. AEQ Capitol IP digital consoles for the Pop Extremo and Sonora Grupera frequencies, both with built-in double telephone hybrid and 16-channel Dante module. In addition, to carry out production locally, 4 have been installed AEQ Bravo analog consoles in the cities of Guaymas and Navojoa.

The links are made by AEQ IP codecs from the Phoenix family. Los audiocodecs Venus 3 with Dante dual channel send two independent and simultaneous signals to each of the cities. The audio generated in Hermosillo is received in Guaymas and Navojoa thanks to the codecs IP Mercury of a channel.

For their part, the analog/digital converters to Dante AEQ Netbox 8 se instalan con la finalidad de poder integrar dispositivos analógicos y/o digitales a la red de Dante sin necesidad de invertir en nuevo equipamiento.
