Ibermatic has been selected by the Technological Research and Development Center Tecnalia for the provision and commissioning of the equipment of two of the four laboratories related to the TEAFIB project, specifically the Laboratorio Big Data y el Laboratorio DRM & Seguridad de contenidos, both aimed at the audiovisual sector. The contract, close to one million euros, represents one of Tecnalia's most important investments in 2018 aimed at digital technologies.

The main objective of the TEAFIB project is the launch of a series of technological developments in different areas of application within the R&D lines of the Research Center and its business and research ecosystem in order to achieve tangible results in the short term. and medium term. Among these developments are new systems based on artificial intelligence and data analytics for the sector, or prototypes based on DLT technologies like blockchain for content security.

During the signing of the agreement Iñaki San Sebastian, CEO of Tecnalia, has highlighted the level of sophistication of the equipment that Tecnalia is going to make available to the business community to carry out innovation projects that generate a positive impact on its products and services, as well as Ibermática's ability to provide high-performance solutions that will allow for flexible and scalable computing infrastructures.

For its part, Juan Ignacio Sanz, general director and CEO of Ibermática, has emphasized the strength of the alliance between both organizations, highlighting the company's interest in being a partner that helps Tecnalia overcome its challenges, both national and international. In this sense, he has highlighted the common interest in digital services in an increasingly interconnected and interactive world and in software technologies that will make intelligent products possible, “areas in which we have experience and a leading position in the market, such as It can be seen in this project.”

The Big Data Laboratory will be specialized in the development of data technologies. intelligent search and retrieval, storage and display of audiovisual data. It is about taking a step beyond recovering or managing content through digital platforms, generating value through the data and metadata generated by the sector.

The laboratory will work to provide solutions to challenges such as the prediction of consumption patterns, prescriptions when generating or broadcasting content, advanced and real-time visualization of consumption flows, or the ability to process volumes of heterogeneous data in formats. diverse audiovisuals in real time, all of them essential today for the audiovisual sector.

Por su parte, el Laboratorio DRM & Seguridad de contenidos se centrará en abordar los automation challenges that the audiovisual sector faces when generating and/or distributing content, delving into the management of Intellectual Property rights and content security. Challenges that imply two maxims: the need to have practical solutions based on secure registration technologies (for example, blockchain); and the ability to manage the secure distribution of content in audiovisual production.

The DRM laboratory must cover the development of activities related to the management of digital rights and content assurance, including the development of R&D&i projects and proofs of concept, experimentation of prototypes, carrying out demonstrations or training and training for personnel from within and outside the laboratory.

Both laboratories will also be open to collaboration with other research teams and companies seeking to develop proofs of concept on technologies such as HortonWorks, Hyperledger, Ethereum, HSM...
