'The Cathedral of the Sea' comes to an end as the most watched Spanish series in recorded history
Atresmedia's original fiction is the most watched series of the season on Antena 3 with an average of more than 2.7 million viewers and leading with a share of 17.5% (leaving its competitor almost 4 points behind).
Antenna 3 broadcasts this Wednesday, July 18, in prime time, the last episode of The cathedral of the sea, an original Atresmedia Television series that concludes with a marked leadership in audiences.
In the absence of this last episode, the original Atresmedia Televisión series averages more than 2.7 million viewers per episode, leading its band with a share of 17.5%; that is, leaving its closest rival almost 4 points behind (13.8%). It is also the absolute leader in the commercial target (18.6%).
Delayed, The cathedral of the sea also sweeps away an average of more than 515,000 viewers per episode, thus becoming the most watched Spanish series in history under this modality.
The series is the faithful adaptation of the best-seller of the same name by Ildefonso Falcones of which more than 6 million copies have been sold in more than 40 countries. The series is made up of a single season of 8 episodes lasting less than an hour and stars a luxury cast: Aitor Luna, Michelle Jenner, Silvia Abascal, Pablo Derqui, Andrea Duro, Ginés García Millán, Daniel Grao and Josep Maria Pou.
La Catedral del mar is a series of Atresmedia Televisión produced in collaboration with Diagonal TV, La Catedral del Mar A.I.E. and Televisió de Catalunya directed by award-winning Jordi Frades. Rodolf Sirera has been responsible for the adaptation of the successful novel of the same name by Ildefonso Falcones, a work that has already been published in more than forty countries, being translated into more than fifteen languages.
