The 5GForum in Malaga, a key event for 5G in Spain
Presidents, directors, politicians, technicians, professors and experts from all over Spain will meet on April 25 and 26 at the 5GForum at the Digital Content Hub in Malaga.
The First edition of the 5GForum has already managed to close the participation of presidents, directors, politicians, technicians, professors and top-level experts, who will turn the event of the Digital Content Hub of Malaga in a key meeting to evaluate 5G in Spain.
The 5GForum, organized by Middle Medina with RTVE and Panorama Audiovisual as media partnersit's him First multidisciplinary event on 5G which is being held in Spain to address in a panoramic way the fields in which this new technology will be developed.
Among the confirmed speakers is the new president of Nokia in Spain, Ignacio Gallego, who will lead a team of 10 engineers to show different pilot projects of the Nokia Bell Labs that the Finnish multinational technology company is developing.
The executive chairman of Axion, Jorge Alberto Jiménez, will also speak at 5GForum about the impact that 5G technology will have on smart telecommunications infrastructures, on "smart cities" and on the demand for services from users and citizens.
The Minister of Employment, Enterprise and Trade of the Regional Government of Andalusia, Javier Carnero, will attend accompanied by the Director General of Telecommunications and the Information Society of Andalusia, Manuel Ortigosa.
The advisor to the Ministry of Energy, Tourism and Digital Agenda, Pedro Alonso, will comment to the attendees of the 5GForum on the current status of the national 5G deployment plan that is to be presented to the European Commission in June.
On the part of Telephone Javier Gutiérrez Álvaro, Director of Strategy and Network Development at Telefónica Spain, will be present. And on behalf of Vodafone, Didier Clavero, network director of Vodafone Spain, is confirmed.
The Customer Engineering Manager of Hispasat, Inés Sanz, will explain the usefulness that the satellite will have to bring 5G to all possible fields, especially thanks to its great communication capacity and coverage.
Universities
Representing the universities will be the professor of the Polytechnic University of Madrid, José Manuel Menéndez, and the professor at the Polytechnic University of Valencia, Narcís Cardona, who will share the progress of the 5G-XCAST project.
In addition, the vice-rector of the University of Malaga, Raquel Barco, will explain the projects that are being developed on 5G at the UMA and, with the sponsorship of Samsung, a group of students will make a "pitching" of projects to the audience of the Digital Content Hub.
On the part of Radio Televisión Española, the Director of Technological Strategy and Digital Innovation of RTVE, Pere Vila; accompanied by Adolfo Muñoz and Esteban Mayoral, coordinator of the Impulsa Visión programme, RTVE's start-up accelerator.
Mario Cortés, dean of the Official College of Telecommunications Graduates and Technical Engineers, will also participate in a round table on "smart cities".
The issue of "gaming" and the changes that this industry will undergo due to 5G will be analyzed by Juan Olivares, executive of the Indian multinational OnMobile, a global leader in the mobile phone entertainment industry.
Samsung, Cellnex, Hispasat, Nokia, Axión and RTVE are the sponsors of this first multidisciplinary 5G meeting. Over two intense days, aspects of 5G will be addressed, such as its deployment, the Internet of Things (IoT), Connected Cars, Big Data, Emergency Services, Telemedicine, Tourism, Gaming...
In the coming weeks, the agenda of the event will be completed, which will only be accessed by 250 people in order to maintain the flow of exclusive networking, conferences and workshops at the facilities of the Digital Content Hub of Malaga.
