Pedro Olmedilla, founder of Alerce Producciones, dies

He began professionally working at Producciones Benito Perojo, although he soon joined the staff of Televisión Española, where he was named Production Director in 1966.

The producer Pedro Olmedilla has died in Madrid. Olmedilla was born in Alicante and was a founding member of the Television Academy. He began professionally working at Producciones Benito Perojo, although he soon joined the staff of Televisión Española, where in 1966 he was named Director of Production, both in the direction of Programs and in that of Information Services.

In 1989 he left his position at the public network to begin his career as an independent producer and create his own production company, Alerce Producciones, with which he made numerous programs for Canal Sur Televisión, Antena 3 TV, Televisión Española, Telemadrid and Canal 9.

Olmedilla participated in the production of, among others, the series Tenants or Oh Lord, Lord! In 2004 she received the Television Academy's Talent Award.
