Dejero offers immediate connectivity from the Pyeongchang Winter Olympics
Dejero offers ready-to-use transmission equipment such as EnGo mobile links, batteries, chargers, backpacks and a provision of specific SIM cards for use in the region that provide cellular connectivity with different operators in South Korea for optimal performance.
Dejero is supporting broadcast rights holders and other local and international broadcast organizations and media that are covering the Winter Games in Pyeongchang.
The company is offering ready-to-use transmission equipment such as EnGo mobile links, batteries, chargers, backpacks and a provision of specific SIM cards for use in the region that provide cellular connectivity with different operators in South Korea for optimal performance.
Bogdan Frusina, founder of Dejero, notes that "mountainous terrain, remote locations and adverse weather conditions make covering the Winter Games a challenge. Rights-owning broadcasters supplement broadcasts of major events with athlete interviews and commentary from on-site experts, and getting those feeds can be a challenge in outdoor venues."
"By pre-loading our EnGo transmitters with multiple SIM cards serviced by different carriers, and pre-configuring modem modules specifically for operation in South Korea, we are not only alleviating the hassle for production teams, but also ensuring that remote sites remain seamlessly connected in the difficult coverage conditions in Pyeongchang. If a network path deteriorates, EnGo automatically adjusts to deliver exceptional image quality with low latency," he adds.
The Dejero offer includes EnGo, a compact and modular mobile transmitter which encodes high-quality videos and streams over multiple IP networks. It is ideal for news gathering, sports coverage, and live event streaming from remote and on-the-go locations. It can be mounted on the camera, mounted on a vehicle, and carried in a backpack.
Before the games, Dejero created a customized logistics service to facilitate the supply of equipment. Customers had the option of picking up the Dejero equipment in their home country or at the site in Pyeongchang, and the “delivery” process was just as simple. Dejero also has equipment on hand in case backup units are needed.
“Simplicity of operation is a key goal for Dejero and we try to go the extra mile to ensure that broadcasters can offer the best quality shots possible,” Frusina concludes.
