Mavic Air: DJI's new ultra-portable and foldable drone with 4K aerial camera
The most portable three-axis gimbal with a 4K camera includes features like SmartCapture, FlightAutonomy 2.0 and Advanced Pilot Assistance System.
DJI has presented Mavic Air, his new ultraportable drone with 4K aerial camera. It incorporates the best features of one of DJI's most iconic series, the Mavic series, such as: a 4K camera, with which you can obtain superior image quality; new QuickShot and SmartCapture modes to make capturing photos and videos easier; and FlightAutonomy 2.0 with Advanced Pilot Assistance System for safer and smarter flight.
The Mavic Air weighs just 430 grams and is the most portable drone DJI has ever created. Its folding arms and propellers hug the aircraft's streamlined, slender body, making it so compact that its folded size is practically that of a smartphone.
Everything about the Mavic Air has been designed for maximum performance. His three-axis mechanical stabilizer It is suspended from shock absorbers that reduce vibrations even further, giving superior protection and more stable grips. You can get very high quality photos and videos thanks to its powerful camera with a 1/2.3” CMOS sensor, with a lens aperture of f/2.8 and a 35mm equivalent focal length of 24mm. It takes sharp 12 megapixel photos with its new HDR algorithms, thanks to which more details are preserved in the bright and dark areas of the photos, allowing you to capture stunning aerial images from sunrise to sunset.
The Mavic Air also takes stable and smooth video at 4K and 30 fps with a maximum bit rate of 100 Mbps. Because it can record slow-motion video at 1080p and 120 fps, it makes it possible to preserve all the excitement of your fast-paced, high-speed scenes.
Additionally, the Mavic Air is DJI's first drone with a microSD card slot in addition to 8GB of internal storage space so users can store photos and videos on their aircraft. It also has a USB-C port.
QuickShot Smart Video
Intelligent QuickShot video modes create professional videos easily and simply, flying for a while.default flight trajectories and always keeping the lens in the frame. Use Rocket, Drone, Orbit and Spiral, plus the two new Asteroid and Boomerang modes, to effortlessly create videos that previously required good piloting skills and advanced editing software. In Asteroid, the drone rises as it moves away, capturing a spherical panorama at the end of its flight path. In Boomerang, you fly around a target in a slightly inclined oval path, recording video from start to finish.
The Mode of ActiveTrack Intelligent Flight The MavicAir has been improved so that it can automatically detect multiple targets, tracking them and having them in the image more accurately, especially with moving targets, even if they are running or cycling.
SmartCapture is a control mode that uses machine learning to make taking photos and videos effortless. With a maximum range of 6 meters (20 feet), you can give hand commands to take off, follow, photograph, record, approach, move away and land. So you can capture the moment from any angle you want without the need for a remote control.
Smarter and safer flight
Optimized algorithms and greater processing power mean the Mavic Air can fly safer and smarter avoiding obstacles and taking into account the terrain. FlightAutonomy 2.0 processes the data collected by the seven cameras and infrared sensors on board to build a 3D map of your environment for more precise hovering and better flight performance. Improved vision systems with dual front and rear cameras detect obstacles up to 20 meters away. The new Advanced Pilot Assistance System allows you to fly through more complicated outdoor environments by automatically avoiding obstacles, which means more safety in flight.
The Mavic Air has a maximum flight time of 21 minutes. It can fly stably with wind up to 36 km/h and at altitude up to 5000 m above sea level. Its remote control is the first to have detachable control levers that can be stored inside the remote control itself for easier portability. Its omnidirectional antennas located on the folding landing gear increase signal coverage up to maximum range of 4 km with 720p real-time video streaming when flown with a remote controller. In Sport mode, the Mavic Air reaches speeds of 68.4 km/h and is compatible with DJI Goggles for an immersive flight experience.
