Amazon closes an agreement with TVE, Atresmedia and Mediaset for the distribution of its series on Amazon Prime Video
This agreement will mean a new window for the three Spanish audiovisual groups to market their content and make it known through Amazon's SVOD platform in territories such as the United States and Latin America, including Brazil.
Amazon has signed an agreement to add to its catalogue of Amazon Prime Video numerous series of diction of Spanish Television, Atresmedia and Mediaset. These productions can thus be followed on Amazon's SVOD platform in Spain, the United States and Latin America, including Brazil.
In the case of the agreement with RTVE, the titles for which the rights are transferred are part of the most recent productions of the Corporation, and also of the most successful; among them are I am alive, Queens, Elizabeth and Charles, King-Emperor.
In the case of Atresmedia, the agreement includes series such as The Time Between Seams, Vis a Vis, Velvet or The Boat. Fictions that are a success with audiences and critics and that have already been seen in dozens of countries.
In the case of Down there, the transaction also includes the sale of broadcasting rights on Amazon Prime Video for the Latin American territory.
In addition, Prime Video customers will be able to watch two of the main releases of Series Atresmedia, which are still in the filming phase, in the coming months: Presumed Guilty and Abattoir. Thanks to this agreement, the two Atresmedia series will arrive exclusively on Amazon Prime Video for the territories of Spain and Latin America once they have been broadcast on Atresmedia channels.
"At Atresmedia Televisión we are very satisfied with this agreement that allows our Series Atresmedia label to take another step forward in its successful international trajectory through Amazon. It is a great opportunity for viewers around the world to continue enjoying our content on a new service, which also allows us to make the most of and extend the life of our productions", commented Javier Bardají, CEO of Atresmedia Televisión
Telecinco productions such as The Accident, The Truth, I Know Who You Are, Forgive Me, Lord, The Prince and all seasons of The one that is coming will become part of Amazon Prime Video's OTT catalog, by virtue of the agreement that Mediaset España has recently closed with this company.
Most of the titles contemplated by this alliance will be available both to subscribers of this platform in Spain and to those in Latin America, except for Lo que escondían sus ojos and Hermanos, which in addition to appearing in the catalogs for these territories will also be part of the portfolio for viewers in the Spanish-speaking U.S. The truth, still pending release in Spain, can be seen on Amazon's OTT platform immediately after its launch on Telecinco.
Cain's Father, Anchored, The King, The Duchess, The Escape, Rage and There's someone there complete the list of titles contemplated by this alliance.
Manuel Villanueva, general director of content at Mediaset Spain, pointed out that "this agreement benefits both companies: on the one hand, Mediaset Spain expands its international projection and places its content in territories where Spanish fiction is of great interest. In addition, it opens a new and interesting window for the exploitation of its products and expands the consumption platforms on which its offer is currently available. On the other hand, our series and miniseries are a safe bet for the Amazon Prime Video catalog, which incorporates into its outstanding portfolio some of our fiction productions of proven success in the Spanish-speaking market."
