LiveU, always on the front line of the news even in 4K
The new LU600 unit, which includes a HEVC Pro card, supported Live Audiovisual in the broadcast of the World Pádel Tour final from Miami.
Talking about IP-based transmission solutions for content acquisition, management and distribution is talking about LiveU. Its cutting-edge solutions have enabled its customers in more than 60 countries to bring the latest news or high-profile events to audiences around the world over 4G LTE/3G, HSPA+, Wimax and Wi-Fi cellular networks.
From backpacks to smartphones, and hybrid satellite/cellular external antenna solutions, LiveU offers a full range of devices for live video coverage, anytime, anywhere. In addition, LiveU has a cloud-based management service and video distribution solutions.
Until now, their solutions made it possible to contribute a clear and robust HD signal from a simple and light backpack. However, at the last NAB 2017 it presented the new LU600 unit that includes for the first time an HEVC Pro card and allows working with 4K Ultra High Definition signals.
LiveU has managed with this card and the optimization of HEVC encoding to offer 4K in a unit with a data transfer of up to 20 MB and 80 MB of Store and forward. In addition, the new LU600 will be upgradeable with the future hardware version of H265 that will be commercially available in the coming months. Without a doubt, with this new HEVC video card it will be possible to optimize the available capacity of the network to achieve maximum quality transmissions.
Tailored to the needs of mobile journalists, LiveU's sixth generation of portable units offers a new streamlined user interface, with a highly responsive 5-inch capacitive touchscreen. The unit comes in a specially designed smart backpack, with enhanced usability, remote control functionality and easy access to screens, controls and interfaces.
Live Audiovisual, a company specializing in streaming services, retransmission, distribution, connectivity and production of digital content, continues to trust LiveU and demonstrates it with its latest acquisition Park 7 of more than ten teams.
Live Audiovisual has carried out one of the most complex tests on the occasion of the World Pádel Tour in Miami, broadcasting in parallel as a backup the final of said tournament for GolTv, using the new LiveU LU600 equipment.
The test was a complete success, and according to Live Audiovisual, the transmissions carried out with the LU600 equipment are comparable to those carried out via satellite.
