Imagen Televisión begins its broadcasts in Mexico with VSN continuity systems

The VSNMulticom system has been integrated with VSNExplorer MAM's own continuity solution for file management, as well as with Harmonic's Spectrum video servers, Imagine's Icon Master mixer and the Orad graphics system.

Imagen Televisión, the new free-to-air television network that has come to break with more than two decades without the creation of new operators in this sector in Mexico, has begun to automate the control of its broadcasts thanks to the implementation of the VSNMulticom solution redundant from VSN. The channel began its free-to-air broadcast on October 17 and is already broadcasting in 60 cities in the country through 123 stations, covering a total audience of more than 70 million people.

The media conglomerate Grupo Imagen, belonging to the Ángeles Business Group, has placed its trust in the technological VSN to automate and manage the complete flow of broadcasts of its new television channel Imagen Televisión, which was officially launched on December 17. October.

The project in question required the implementation of a complete continuity automation flow that was perfectly integrated with all the third-party equipment available to the channel to offer Imagen Televisión a reliable broadcast system from the moment it went on air. With this objective, VSN launched together with Teletec, its trusted dealer in the region, two VSNMulticom systems that are responsible for guaranteeing uninterrupted broadcasting 24 hours a day, thanks to the installation of a complete continuity automation solution with Parallel redundancy configuration.

With the aim of establishing an end-to-end automatic control flow, VSN developed, thanks to the VSNSpider framework, a complete integration of both VSNMulticom systems with its own VSNExplorer MAM continuity solution for file management, as well as with the video servers. Spectrum of Harmonic, the Icon Master mixer Imagine and the Orad graphics system (Avid).

The final result of this project allows Imagen Televisión to have a completely automatic flow of continuity from the export of the files and video clips to their sending to the broadcast servers, allowing the system itself to call the video servers. when a clip or content scheduled in the list is not ready to be broadcast.

The new channel, which puts an end to 23 years without granting and creating new broadcasting licenses in Mexico, has emerged as the third national network and, for the moment, covers a coverage of more than 70 million people through 123 stations. spread throughout the country.
