Chema Casaos: "Our goal at Ericsson is to help customers in digital transformation"
Chema Casaos, Area Director of TV & Media at Ericsson Iberia, analyzes in a video interview some of the new features of Ericsson at BIT Broadcast 2016 such as the MediaFirst and Integrated Video Insights platforms.
Among the novelties that Ericsson Ericsson has once again attended BIT Broadcast to showcase its latest innovations and solutions for the television and media sector.
Among them, the video distribution platform over the Internet, MediaFirst, stands out. On the other hand, the analytical platform based on big data Integrated Video Insights, selected among the innovative projects of the BIT Innova initiative, is based on an end-to-end approach to data analysis.
Aimed at the audiovisual industry, it aims to improve two aspects of any audiovisual content provider: the operational and the commercial and marketing. Its innovation lies in the contribution of a multi-domain solution, which covers the analytics needs of any video content provider in any segment, whether OTT, IPTV, cable, satellite or terrestrial television, and in that it can be integrated with other data sources from other domains, thus achieving a much more detailed granularity and level of analytics.
As we could see in BIT Broadcast, Ericsson, after the latest purchases of companies such as Envivio and Phabrix, has positioned itself as a first-class partner when it comes to improving the quality of processes and workflows, implementing Ultra High Definition environments, establishing optimized signal processing for multiplatform and multi-device or implementing cloud-based business models.
In addition to targeting traditional broadcasters, of any size, and telcos, Ericsson is setting a service strategy with system integration, now expanding the focus from content delivery to digital outdoor.
As Chema Casaos, director of the TV & Media area at Ericsson Iberia, points out in this interview, the multinational is in a privileged position to take on projects in television, mobile, Internet, digital signage or digital outdoor.
