Sony PXW-Z450: a 4K XDCAM shoulder camcorder with a 2/3″ 4K image sensor
It will allow standard B4 mount lenses to be attached directly to the body without the need for an adapter. It allows users to record at 1080p HD and switch to 4K 59.94p when necessary.
At the end of this year, Sony will have on the market the new XDCAM 4K shoulder camcorder with a 2/3″ Exmor CMOS image sensor capable of capturing images with a resolution of 3840×2160.
The PXW-Z450 will allow standard B4 mount lenses to be attached directly to the body without the need for an adapter, offering great flexibility to easily swap lenses. With a high zoom ratio and great depth of field (DOF), users will have at their disposal a 4K camcorder with which to make the most of their creativity.
Additionally, the camcorder supports multi-format recording for a wide variety of applications, allowing users to record at 1080p HD and switch to 4K 59.94p when necessary. Supports both XAVC Intra and XAVC Long for 4K recording, as well as MPEG HD422.
Likewise, it supports multiple external signals (HD/SD-SDI), which allows television networks to record an external signal on an SxS card, from another on-site camera without a portable deck.
Intended for field production, the PXW-Z450 inherits many features from the PXW-X400. This includes the “online” button, which allows users to directly stream proxy clips or AV signals to other networked equipment, equivalent low power consumption, as well as the well-balanced body and lens that solve the problems pitch for comfortable recording all day long.
For current PXW-X400 users, Sony will also introduce a 4K upgrade kit, the CBK-Z450UK. The new kit offers users the same functionalities of the PXW-Z45022.
Finally, note that the PXW-Z450 will be marketed with a body without lens or viewfinder, and can be attached to the Full HD OLED viewfinder of the HDVF series (HDVF-EL20/EL30).
