Panasonic reinforces its range of 4K cameras
The new AG-UX90 and AG-UX180 inaugurate the new UX range, successor to the brand's popular AVCCAM line of AVCHD professional cameras. For study, Panasonic will now have two new 4K proposals: the AK-UC3000 and AK-HC5000, which will offer 1080p at 240 fps.
Panasonic attended NAB 2016 with a portfolio full of innovations in acquisition. Among them, the new high-end UX model (AG-UX180) stands out, succeeding the previous AVCCAM line of professional AVCHD cameras from Panasonic. This series incorporates a MOS sensor, 20x optical zoom and capacity for UHD 60p recordings, unlike the standard UX model (AG-UX90), whose optical zoom is 15x and records in UHD 30p.
The UX series supports recording in 4K (4096x2160, 24p only), UHD (3840x2160) and FHD up to 120p, and the cameras use the SD1 memory card as recording media. The high-end UX model can also record in two codecs (UHD2/FHD), infrared in low light conditions and 3G SDI/HDMI2.0 output.
The MOS sensor of UX cameras guarantees sensitivity equivalent to that of conventional handheld cameras. Variable frame rate recording (VFR) functionality from 2 to 60 fps is also planned to be introduced in FHD mode.
The launch of the UX models increases Panasonic's range of professional 4K cameras to five, including the flagship VariCam 35, VariCam LT and AG-DVX200 models.
Study
In terms of studio, a business area in which Panasonic is becoming stronger, we find two new 4K proposals: the AK-UC3000 and AK-HC5000, which offers resolutions of 1080p at 240 fps
The AK-UC3000 model has a built-in MOS sensor that generates a UHD signal of up to 50p and offers superior HD image quality. The camera's B4 mount includes a 2/3″ full-range lens to maximize the investment in current lenses.
Additionally, the UC3000 enables high-sensitivity (F10/2000 lx), low-noise (60 dB+ signal-to-noise ratio), high-resolution (1800 TV lines/UHD) recordings, and 600% wide dynamic range (-6dB~). 36dB).
For its part, the AK-HC5000 model is destined to become Panasonic's flagship studio model. This camera, capable of offering high-speed output of up to 1080/240p, incorporates the new 3-CMOS, 2.2M, type 2/3, high sensitivity (F11/2000 lx), low noise (signal noise ratio) sensors. of 60 dB+) and resolution measured at 1,100 television lines.
The HC5000 shares many features with the UC3000, including an advanced focus assist system, stepless gain (-3~36 dB), a user gamma adjustment, black gamma correction, tracking pedestal, multi-stop digital noise (DNR), reduced bias and dynamic range extension (DRS). The HC5000's flash band compensation corrects this effect that most MOS-based cameras can experience.
A new camera control unit, model AK-UCU500, supplies power over 2,000 m via hybrid fiber and generates 4K and HD signals simultaneously. Two new remote control panels, models AK-HRP1000 and AK-HRP1005, both with color LCD readout screens, provide IP controls. A new 9″ Full-HD LCD viewfinder is also available.
