Medina Media prepares a 4K documentary about Andalusian Holy Week
For this production recorded in the eight provinces of Andalusia, Medina Media has used Sony PXW-FS7 4K cameras and Fujinon Cabrio 85-300mm and 19-90mm photography lenses.
The largest popular festival in Andalusia will be the protagonist of Holy Week in Andalusia: the film, a documentary produced by Medina Media and Canal Sur recorded in Ultra High Definition and which includes the best images of Holy Week in the eight Andalusian provinces.
The recording, made in 4K and at 50 frames per second, has toured a city every day portraying the different ways of experiencing this festival, declared of International Tourist Interest.
The project will materialize in a 90-minute feature film in which the viewer will witness the great moments of this celebration in 2016, such as La Madrugá in Seville, the bonfires that illuminate Los Gitanos in the Sacromonte in Granada, the devotion they profess to El Cautivo (Málaga) or El Abuelo (Jaén), also the Brotherhood of Las Ánimas (Córdoba), Los Judíos de San Mateo (Jerez de la Frontera), La Borriquita (Almería) or El Resucitado (Hinojos, Huelva).
The objective of this innovative and technological effort, in which Canal Sur has participated as a co-producer, is that in the future Holy Week in Andalusia can be enjoyed worldwide through satellite channels, DTTs, fiber optics and any type of digital platforms that broadcast on any type of support (tablets, phones and other mobile devices) without limitations and always with the highest quality.
For this production, Medina Media 4K has used 4K cameras Sony PXW-FS7 and photography optics Fujinon Cabrio 85-300mm and 19-90mm, which achieve a quality 4 times higher than High Definition and 16 times better than the standard definition (SD) with which most digital channels broadcast in Spain.
The feature film will be released in movie theaters in Andalusia next 2017 and will be broadcast on television on the eve of next year's edition.
