The roof of Torre Picasso will host the highest movie theater in the world
On the occasion of the premiere of 'The Challenge' Sony Pictures, Pontegadea (owner of the Madrid tower), Cinematografía Pereira and Kinépolis will launch this exciting project at 157 meters high.
On the occasion of the upcoming premiere in Spain of The Challenge (The Walk), Madrid will host what will be the tallest movie theater in the world. A glass room located 157 meters high, on the roof of the Picasso Tower, the work of architect Minoru Yamasaki, also the author of The Twin Towers, where for a few weeks viewers will be able to watch the film in a unique and unrepeatable environment, bringing their sensations that Philippe Petit himself must have felt when carrying out his dream.
In 1974, this French tightrope walker carried out the great feat of crossing the distance that separated the Twin Towers in New York by walking on a cable stretched between their two roofs. The story of this unique and unrepeatable adventure is told in the new film by famous director Robert Zemeckis, The challenge, in which actor Joseph Gordon-Levitt plays the real character, accompanied by British actor Ben Kingsley, and French actress Charlotte Le Bon.
Likewise, and to celebrate both the premiere of The challenge Like the spectacular movie theater in the heights, Philippe Petit will visit Madrid to present both the film and the theater to the press, and to also act as host to those attending the premiere that will take place on December 10.
This movie theater, a world milestone in its category, has been made possible thanks to Sony Pictures Releasing of Spain, Pontegadea (owner of Torre Picasso) with the support of the Madrid City Council, and with the collaboration of Cinematography Pereira and Kinépolis, who have participated in their respective technical areas to carry out this exciting project.
