Live and studio
With 40 inputs, the Soundcraft Si Impact enables powerful digital live mixing with ViSi iPad control and built-in stage box connectivity, to expand the number of inputs and outputs. In addition to the features ideal for direct sound, the Si Impact features a 32-in, 32-out USB playback and recording interface that offers easy multitrack recording and playback, directly from a DAW platform. With the acquisition of the Si Impact you get a free download of Ableton Live 9 Lite, through the Soundcraft website.
The faders, fully motorized, are equipped with Soundcraft's FaderGlow light technology and LCD displays per channel, for visual feedback and ease of operation.
The Si Impact offers 32 mic/line inputs, 40 DSP input channels (32 mono inputs and 4 stereo channels/returns) and 31 output buses (all with DSP process and graphic EQ) with 20 subgroup auxiliary buses and four mono/stereo matrix buses. 8 XLR/jack connectors are available for line and instrument inputs, while a 4-band parametric EQ is available for each channel and each bus. The Si Impact also offers studio-quality effects and dynamics process, from BSS, Lexicon and Dbx: Soundcraft's "sister" companies, all of which also belong to the Harman group.
The Si Impact supports up to 8 VCA masters and 8 mute groups, plus 26 motorized and LR/Mono input faders (fully motorized, with four customizable fader layers). The console also features a 5-inch color touchscreen, for easy access to show settings, channel patching, effects, and security settings.
Sean Karpowicz, Product Manager Soundcraft, acknowledges that "the Si Impact is the first mixer in its category when it comes to combining analogue workflow with digital flexibility, and at a more affordable price than ever before. And more importantly: it provides the best sound quality among the equipment in its range, which is comparable to that of much larger and more expensive consoles. And thanks to the USB interface, it's valid both live and in the studio!"
