DPA launches a micro headband and another specific one for interviews
They present superior performance due to clarity in voice recording, linearity and low ambient noise.
DPA has unveiled its broadcast microphones at NAB 2015, including the brand new d:facto Interview Microphone, a microphone for interviews and street reporting, which has been presented alongside the recently launched d:fine In-Ear Broadcast Headset Microphone.
Within its class, the latter offers superior performance due to clarity in voice recording, linearity and low ambient noise. The d:facto is perfect for street and studio. The d:fine In-Ear is aimed at professionals who use the microphone to communicate with production, the backstage team, or to follow the return of people who are interviewed outside the studio.
The main feature of the d:facto is a 2006V omnidirectional capsule, based on the original DPA from 2006, but which has adjusted its sensitivity to reach 12 dB to adapt to what is common in wireless interview microphones. The omnidirectional design is preferred for interviews with a handheld microphone because it is more accurate and reduces ambient or handling noise from the device itself. That noise is significantly reduced in this microphone because its head has been designed with a rubber suspension.
When used in conjunction with the recently released DPA d:fine In-Ear Broadcast Headset Microphone, the DPA d:facto Interview Microphone can be used in the studio to interview guests or audiences while maintaining a connection with production or performance via of d:fine's in-ear. The d:facto Interview is also ideal for use on the street and in ENG units.
The new d:fine In-Ear Broadcast Headset Microphone is made with the same capsules and design that has made d:fine a very popular microphone in the world. This model incorporates two cables (microphone and headphone) that run parallel to provide a clean and neat design. The ear cushions, which are offered in two sizes, have been designed with great care to ensure that the sound from the headset does not interfere with the microphone.
The headband support is perfectly adjustable and the headphone cable can be lengthened or shortened to adapt to the user. It's also easy to adjust the headband depending on whether you choose the right or left ear in your setup.
