Jorge Muria, from VSN: “with Agile University Day we want to bring the university community closer to the company”

Agile Spain University Day will take place on October 25 and aims to build bridges between the university community (professors and students) and the company.

Next October 25th will be celebrated Agile Spain University Day with the intention of uniting more than ten campuses throughout Spain around agile software development, based on the collaboration of self-organized and multidisciplinary groups.

Promoted at the national level by Jorge Muria, Developer Manager at the broadcast solutions company VSN, the main objective of the event is to build bridges between the university community (professors and students) and the company in order to reduce the gap between both sectors around agility, with conferences and seminars on this type of technology.

More than ten Spanish universities will participate in the event, with activities and presentations on agile methodologies, practical cases and the job outlook that students will find when they finish their studies. The campuses that will gather around the banner of agile software development are the University of Alicante, the School of Computer Engineering of Oviedo, the Polytechnic School of Engineering of Gijón, IEBS Madrid, UPNA Navarra, the University of Extremadura, UPV, the University of Deusto, the University of Mondragón and the University of Las Palmas De Gran Canaria, among others.

Jorge Muria, founder of Agile Alicante, has highlighted that "we want to get closer to the universities and the people who will soon share the labor market with us. There are some things that universities do not tell about the labor market, and we would like to talk about some of them. We also want to bring the agile world closer to the universities, often focused on traditional methodologies. Know what it takes to teach agile values in the academic world. But of course we do not forget the professionals, the content and the quality of the talks and activities will make it a very useful and productive event for those who need to continue growing and learning.”

The VSN company will be present in two presentations at Agile Spain at the University of Alicante, on October 25. Firstly, Óscar Blasco, Senior Software Engineer at VSN, will present the Agile methodologies that are currently used in the company with a practical case that exemplifies the good practices of using this way of working. Secondly, Jorge Muria, Development Manager at VSN, will talk about the Kanban board and how it drives development processes by managing intellectual work and delivery times in a work team.

Agile Spain is an association committed to agile methodologies and the development and dissemination of Agile software in Spain. It seeks to promote and disseminate the use of agile methodologies in Spanish companies, research centers and universities, in addition to promoting research and development in these methodologies, especially in software development and consulting, to contribute to the business and personal growth of its members.
