Josh Trank will direct one of the 'Star Wars' spin-offs
Trank is currently working on 'Fantastic Four' for 20th Century Fox.
In addition to episodes of a new Star Wars trilogy, Lucasfilm and Disney continue to develop several separate films that will offer new stories beyond the main saga. Josh Trank is the latest director to join this interesting project.
“We are thrilled to welcome Josh to our family,” said Lucasfilm President Kathleen Kennedy. "He has incredible talent, a great imagination and a highly developed sense of innovation. All of these qualities fit perfectly with Star Warss, and with this new series of films that go beyond the central characters and stories of Episodes I to IX.”
Trank has commented that “the magic of the Universe of Star Wars marked my entire childhood. So having the opportunity to expand that experience for future generations is the dream of my life.”
Trank sparked the imagination of viewers around the world with his acclaimed directorial debut of Chronicle, a fresh and engaging take on the superhero genre. Trank is currently working on The Fantastic Four para 20th Century Fox.
