Televisión de Galicia renews its intercom system with Clear-Com

The system supplied by QinMedia stands out for its functionality, integration and power. The system is made up of two nodes: an Eclipse Omega chassis and the new Eclipse Delta chassis with 3 rack units connected by a “non-blocking” fiber ring.

Televisión de Galicia (TVG) has opted for advanced intercom systems from its San Marcos Production Center. Clear-Com, supplied by QinMedia. This installation is a unique example in Spain as it encompasses each and every one of the most advanced functionalities in state-of-the-art Intercom systems: native IP communications, integrated cellular digital wireless, MADI interface, integrated corporate VoIP communications server, ring topology. Redundant dual fiber, smart conference and dashboard management tool with rotating physical level control.

The system is made up of two nodes: an Eclipse Omega chassis and the new Eclipse Delta chassis with 3 rack units connected by a “non-blocking” fiber ring. The system has a total capacity of close to 550 ports in just 9 rack units and is currently equipped with more than 300 of all possible types of interfaces.

The wireless Belt-Pack system used is the Free-Speak integrated in the chassis with up to 50 beltpacks and an extensive cellular network of antennas that covers all the production units in the Santiago de Compostela center.

Thanks to the ability to integrate native IP communications of the Eclipse matrix and the V series panels, users can at any time choose between both connection modes, on the fly, without adding external interfaces either within the local network of the center or in connection with the delegations.

Adding to the intrinsic IP communications capability of the Eclipse chassis is a VoIP communications server, Concert, a software solution from Clear-Com that covers IP communications with PC clients in a simple and economical way. It is designed for workstations that do not require a physical panel and integrates with the Eclipse matrix, mutualizing both their databases.

The Eclipse Matrix MADI interface provides connection for 64 bi-directional channels on a single card. Through this connection all four-wire communications between the centralized system of digital audio mixers and the intercom matrix are collected.

All panels delivered are of the same model: the new V Series Rotary terminals. Unlike other panels in the same series, these panels have a physical rotary knob to make all types of level adjustments in a quick and intuitive way (input, output, sending crossover point, listening crossover point, IFB level,…).

The entire system is managed with the new EHX software that provides more processing power than its predecessor, the ECS. TVG has added the Production Maestro real-time conference operation software to the management system. Thanks to this application, all types of communications, conferences, multiplex, duplex, IFB, etc. can be managed in real time from a single operating position. The new graphical interface guarantees fast, simple and secure operation of all system communications, being especially useful in deployments such as elections or large sporting or information events.

With this new Clear-Com intercom system, Televisión de Galicia not only guarantees current and future communications needs but also opens a path towards new global communication technologies applied to a broadcast intercom system.
