Netflix begins 4K tests
The online video distribution platform plans to launch a commercial service with 4K quality next year.
Netflix has begun adding some 4K resolution videos to its online catalog. For now, these are only videos that Netflix will use over the next few months as a test bed.
The company's CEO, Reed Hastings, has assured that "Netflix wants to be one of the main 4K providers next year."
It is expected that Netflix will initially have an offer of its own original content in 4K as well as some movies and television content in Ultra High Definition.
