Maxon Cinebench R15, available for download
Based on the current version of Cinema 4D R15, it offers performance tests of processors and graphics cards.
Maxon has announced the availability of the release of Cinebench 15, a cross-platform benchmark suite that measures hardware performance, available for Windows and OS X.
Cinebench is based on Maxon's Cinema 4D software, used in production studios to create 3D effects such as Iron Man 3, Life of Pi o Prometheus. Unlike artificial benchmarks that only test specific abstract functions, the system measures the performance of real production processes. The test consists of two modules that evaluate the performance of the graphics card and CPU, separately.
The new Cinebench R15 benchmark is an updated version of the previous version compatible with Windows and OS As main improvements, it now supports systems with up to 256 threads. The scoring system has also been updated allowing the result to be displayed in a score in a range greater than 1-50 as was the case in the previous version. In the case of the OpenGL test we are talking about a chase scene between two vehicles that have been designed based on the PAL standard of 25 fps
For the CPU benchmark, the system must have at least 1GB of RAM and a processor with a frequency of 1 GHz. In the case of Windows, it must be at least an Intel Pentium 4 or Athlon 64 Sempron and for Macintosh an Intel Core 2 Solo. And for the OpenGL benchmark, the video card must have at least 512 MB of memory and support OpenGL 2.1 and higher.
