VR-50HD: Roland presents a multi-format HD audio/video mixer for streaming and recording
The Roland VR-50HD integrates an audio and video mixer (in high definition), touch screen multiviewer, and USB video/audio streaming in a stand-alone device controllable by a single operator.
Roland Systems Group has announced the Roland VR-50HD, all-in-one audio and video mixer with output for web streaming and recording.
The Roland VR-50HD integrates an audio mixer, video mixer, touchscreen multiviewer, and USB video/audio streaming into a self-contained device controllable by a single operator. This unique product adds HD capabilities to the popular range of all-in-one VR mixers including the Roland VR-5 and VR-3.
Today's typical events, both large and small, require a variety of equipment and needs to be produced. From an audio mixer to mix various microphone sources to a video mixer for various computer and camera sources, both analog and digital, without forgetting preview monitors for the sources and, of course, online recording or broadcast.
The VR-50HD results in a reduction in equipment, adjustments, time and complexity, ensuring an easy and trouble-free solution for any event.
Video
The video part of the VR-50HD includes a mixer with twelve inputs directed to four multi-format channels and also includes a channel for still image, logo or frame capture. Inputs can be 3G/HD/SD SDI, HDMI, RGB/Component and Composite Outputs include USB connections and the Main and Aux buses in SDI, HDMI and RGB/Component. An external HDMI monitor can be used as a multiviewer if desired.
The audio section is equally impressive, with a twelve-channel digital mixer. Inputs can be mixed from the analog inputs as well as from the embedded audio on the four SDIs or four HDMIs. The audio process includes audio-follow-video adjustments, as well as gates, compression, parametric EQ, delay and reverb. It even incorporates mastering capabilities on the master output. The audio is mixed and re-embedded in the SDI or HDMI on the Main and Aux buses, as well as the USB output.
The USB 2.0/3.0 output allows web streaming as simply as connecting the unit to a computer that runs applications such as USTREAM. Recording is equally easy using Quicktime or the dedicated Mac/Windows capture software, Video Capture for VR.
The interface is intuitive with dedicated audio faders, gain potentiometers, video input selectors and touch monitor. The monitor allows for an easy way to view, operate and select the video source, providing multiple views, including multiviewer configurations of four and seven simultaneous sources.
The VR-50HD is HDCP compatible which allows you to mix copy protected devices such as game consoles, tablets, Blu-ray together with other sources such as cameras or computers.
This portable HD production solution is ideal for schools, churches, town halls, corporate events, sports, training, or any direct-to-web production.
The new Roland VR-50HD will be shown June 12-14 at the InfoComm show in Orlando (booth #1458).
