Sports, cinema, international fiction series, premiere docu-realities and a transgressive container for late-night, the main contents of the new Mediaset España offer that begins its test broadcasts this Tuesday.
On January 9, 2012, he will be born Energy, the new television from Mediaset España aimed at satisfying the leisure needs of an eminently male audience. A new television offering, aimed at young and urban viewers, which will begin its test broadcasts this Tuesday, December 27.
With the birth of this new channel, Mediaset España closes its multichannel offering with content that complements that already existing in the company's television family, currently formed by Telecinco as a generalist channel aimed at the general public; Four, aimed at young viewers; LaSiete, a window to the best content of the previous two; Factoría de Ficción, the only free-to-air channel dedicated to series and movies; Boing, aimed at children and youth audiences and Divinity, aimed at young female audiences.
Markedly sporty DNA
With Energy comes a television whose central axis will pivot largely on sport, with the progressive incorporation into its programming of exclusive content and in broadcasting of the top-level sporting events that Mediaset España has for free-to-air television, such as World Motorcycle Championship in its three categories, the Euro 2012 Football Cup, the Copa del Rey Football Cup, the UEFA Europa League, the NBA Basketball, the European Futsal Championship 2012 -exclusively for Energy- or the 7-a-side Football Championship, whose matches will be included in the provisional programming in tests starting tomorrow, Tuesday.
Sport will be part of the channel's genetics from its launch, so much so that on January 9, Energy will carry out its first live broadcast to offer viewers from Zurich the award ceremony for the 2011 Ballon d'Or, a title awarded by FIFA and the specialized magazine France Futboll to which the players of the Spanish Football League Leo Messi (F.C. Barcelona), Cristiano Ronaldo (Real Madrid) and Xavi Hernández (F.C. Barcelona) opt, in a gala that will also be offered simultaneously by Mitele.es with the narration of J.J. Santos, Sara Carbonero and Manu Carreño.
The latter will also arrive in the afternoons of Energy to offer viewers a second opportunity to learn about all the latest news in the sport with the rebroadcast of the midday edition of “Deportes Cuatro”.
Likewise, the new channel will exclusively host the UEFA Europa League summary program presented by Ramón Fuentes, “Europa en Juego”, until now broadcast on LaSiete, and will launch a new space in which the journalist will analyze the results of the Cup of the King of Football.
These competitions will coexist on the Energy grid along with other types of formats and content unpublished in our country that are successful in other parts of the world, different sports disciplines that combine dynamism, tension, spectacularity, skill, humor, speed, strength and a lot of adrenaline, such as the successful US combat competition broadcast by the Fox Sports network “The Ultimate Fighting Championship”, the surprising truck races held on “Top Gear”, the spectacular pirouettes of the powerful and enormous cars of “Monster Jam” and the always fun gymkhanas from a classic of commercial television in our country: “Yellow Humor”. Within this genre, lovers of this type of formats will also be able to enjoy the duels of the “Gladiators of the 21st Century” program.
Fiction and cinema
The international fiction series, European and North American, will make up another of Energy's most notable pillars throughout its first quarter of life. Acclaimed exclusive premiere productions such as “Sons of Anarchy” and a second window to long-awaited productions such as the prequel to “Spartacus: blood and sand” or “Strike back” (recently released on Cuatro).
In addition, prime time from Monday to Thursday will contain in the first stage of Energy a movie slot with quality titles especially aimed at male audiences, such as “Without Control”, “Daredevil”, “A Matter of Balls”, “Rescate to the Limit ", "Hostage", "Perpetual Chain" or "Isi Disi: High Voltage", among others.
In-house produced programs and reports and a daily latenight event with transgressive content from Monday to Friday

On the one hand, the most night-owl viewers will find on the new channel a daily late night event from Monday to Friday with transgressive and night-time reports through which the network will show the hidden side of the world of pleasure, the nightlife or professions related to the universe of sex.
Docu-realities
Finally, the new channel will include a battery of docu-realities, some of them specially acquired by Mediaset España for this new bet: “Destination truth”: documentaries that transport the viewer throughout the planet with the aim of clarifying some paranormal phenomena and the existence of semi-fantastic creatures; “That tough”, reports that show curiosities such as the interior of high security prisons, armored rooms of various banks and special bunkers; or “The international sexy ladies show”, performances by women from all over the world who have to face tests of skill such as wrestling or strength and skill such as pushing cars.
