Sequoia Group has decided to join the Alternative Stock Market (MAB) as of Thursday, July 28 after successfully overcoming the obstacle of the current situation in the financial markets.
The company increased its share capital by two million euros by issuing 476,360 new shares in an adverse context that has prevented other companies from accessing the capital market due to lack of investors.
Grupo Secuoya, which has the necessary resources to develop its 2011-12 strategic plan, has nevertheless decided to continue with its incorporation into the MAB due to the positive connotations it has for the company. Last week it adjusted the initial size of the planned capital increase in light of the financial storm unleashed and to prevent market instability from affecting the company's valuation, which has been set at 29 million euros before its exit. .
Secuoya has selected a type of institutional investor with long-term interests and less influenced by the current situation. The initial price has been established at 4.2 euros per share.
Secuoya's objective is to obtain an additional financing channel to access the tenders for outsourcing services of private and public television stations, begin the next construction of the Ciudad de la Tele project (recently presented in Tres Cantos (Madrid), continue with the expansion of WIKONO, as well as greater transparency in management.
In 2010, Grupo Secuoya recorded revenues of 21 million euros, a gross operating result (EBITDA) of 2.5 million and a profit before taxes of 0.9 million. The group's objective is to double EBITDA in 2011, and multiply by four that of 2010 in 2012. Only the outsourcing contracts currently signed by Secuoya already guarantee 71% of the 2011 budget and 43% of 2012 .
The company has a low debt ratio, 1.2% of EBITDA; 52% of the company's financial debt is linked to the financing of assets of current contracts.
A thriving group
The Board of Directors of Secuoya is made up of Raúl Berdonés, president and majority shareholder; Pablo Jimeno, shareholder and general director; Miguel Ángel Rodríguez, proprietary director; David Folgado, as independent director and Carlos López, secretary.
Founded in 2007, Grupo Secuoya is a young company present throughout the value chain of the Spanish audiovisual sector in which more than 450 professionals work. Since its creation, its turnover and EBITDA have doubled year after year thanks, among other aspects, to its outsourcing contracts and the success of its television production companies, especially Pulso TV, which is the company that has grown the most due to the very high success rate of their formats.
Grupo Secuoya was born at a key moment in television characterized by a profound change in the business model. Of its more than 450 professionals, less than 10% belong to the structure, which gives it great flexibility to adapt to the needs of a changing market and new production models.
Although the company is present throughout the value chain, it has managed to control risk by avoiding investments in subsectors, such as cinema, theater and sports rights.
Among the group's projects, the investment of 11.6 million euros stands out for the construction of Ciudad de la Tele, a project in Tres Cantos (Madrid) that was born with the intention of establishing itself as the largest audiovisual production center in Spain. with more than 20,000 meters spread over 10 television studios and other spaces created specifically for the production, production and editing of television programs. The inauguration is scheduled for the third quarter of 2012.
The TV City was born with a high occupancy rate due to the contract signed with one of the major fiction production companies, Boomerang, with which it has closed an exclusive agreement for the next 5 years. On the other hand, Endemol is also studying closing with Grupo Secuoya through its production company Diagonal. With these two agreements, 100% occupation of Ciudad de la TV would be closed.
The new center, which will be built in Tres Cantos (Madrid), breaks with the current production model characterized by the disaggregation of the sets, in most cases adapted warehouses that lack the latest technologies, to bring together in one place everything necessary for the development of the audiovisual industry: sets, post-production production and production. The objective is to lead the television services segment by optimizing costs and guaranteeing production capacity.
The project promoted and financed entirely by the Secuoya Group represents an investment of 11.6 million euros and will generate the creation of more than 500 jobs, both direct and indirect.
Business lines
Among the projects that Grupo Secuoya will finance through its next appearance at the MAB is also Wikono, the first professional services franchise for television. Wikono is specialized in managing ENG coverage through a website with quick access to high-resolution images for broadcast by television channels. In its new stage it plans to complete coverage in all 50 provinces of the national territory.
Secuoya, through its companies, currently manages the branches of Antena 3, the audio and video post-production of this channel and the news and cameras of Telemadrid and the Balearic regional television and radio station IB3 (IB3's production contract is the last one Grupo Secuoya won in February 2011 in outsourcing of services through CBM and will represent nearly 30 M euros of income over the next 4 years, extendable for two more). He also co-produces for Euskal Telebista, Euskadi Directo, and the news programs of the municipal television of Granada. Through its subsidiary CBM, it provides technical services to important producers in the sector such as Magnolia, Big Bang, Cuarzo and Mandarina.
