M-380: Roland's popular M-400 console, now in a rack version
Ideal for mobile units, the M-380 is a complete 48-channel digital mixing system in a compact, rackable unit. It is a new option in Roland's growing line of V-Mixing products that also includes digital snakes, personal mixers and multichannel recorders.
Following the success of the M-400 console, Roland Systems Group has launched a rackable version under the name M-380. This new console has 48 mixing channels with 18 buses, 8 matrices, based on DSPs, 4 stereo effects processors, 4 graphic equalizers, stereo recording and playback option, and two built-in multichannel ports. It also includes a configurable Digital Snake with high-quality, remotely controllable mic preamps as well as the possibility of carrying out signal transfer via Cat5e cable, which is lightweight, low-cost and without the high-frequency losses inherent to analogue cables.
The M-380 also offers up to 40 channels of digital signal transfer via Cat5e cable for monitors, FOH or broadcast applications, with mixing and recording to PC via Sonar without the need for audio interfaces. Also worth noting is the full compatibility of project exchange with the M-400 and the adoption of RS-232 control for integration with remote devices, such as touch panels. All this in a rack of just 19”.
The new Roland console is ideal for mobile units as it offers a large number of channels and features in a compact size, allowing it to be installed quickly in any scenario by simply pulling a Cat5e cable. The M-380, since it can be mounted on a flight case with wheels, can also be easily transported in other environments such as education, board rooms or auditoriums. Furthermore, as it can be controlled remotely via RS-232, it is perfect for large rooms with numerous microphones and audio sources.
The M-380 is designed to be fast and intuitive for both the beginner and the seasoned professional. It has dedicated potentiometers and buttons for all console functions and has 13 touch-sensitive motorized faders. It also has a large, bright TFT LCD screen and connectivity via Cat5e cable for quick and easy installation in a truly portable system.
This new console allows 24-bit audio to be transferred from the stage to the console and back to the stage. The stage preamplifiers offer the highest quality and intelligibility. Cat5e cable eliminates high frequency losses inherent in analog cables. The internal digital processing and routing, and DSPs eliminate any possibility of noise and interference and losses in the analog to digital conversion. 24-bit digital transmission eliminates any quality loss between the console and the stage.
Thanks to its 300 scene memory, it allows you to quickly change scenes as well as instant recall of all effects and parameters. Password access allows you to give specific permissions depending on the user. The PC software also makes it possible to load and save configurations with full control in real time. The libraries allow you to save the different channel, control area and effects configurations. Connection to PC via Cat5e cable facilitates up to 40 channels of direct digital audio recording via Sonar by Cakewalk software
Third-party integrators can create controllers for the M-380 using the power of the RS-232 connection protocol with the ability to recall scenes, adjust volume levels, mute channels or groups, and manipulate dozens of other mix parameters. The M-380 can be discreetly installed in a hidden rack and controlled by a remote interface. The new M-380 also features support for the M-48 personal monitoring system, system configurations, left-center-right (LCR), vintage effects, real-time analyzer, full parametric equalizer and intuitive user interface.
La nueva consola M-380 estará disponible junto con otras novedades en el stand de Roland Systems Group de la feria ProLight & Sound de Frankfurt (Hall 8.0 G54).
