Digidesign Venue SC48, an 'all-in-one' console

The Venue SC48 fully integrated live sound system combines all I/O, DSP processing and touch control into a single compact console, making it an affordable, transportable system perfect for recording audio recording for radio and television in the same place of the event.

The Venue SC48 is Digidesign's new digital console that provides a compact and complete solution for audio and processing and is intended for small and medium-sized live sound applications, clubs, audiovisual companies and broadcast.

The new Venue SC48 combines 48 inputs and 16 outputs (expandable to 32), digital signal processing, touch control, professional plug-ins from Digidesign and other manufacturers and full compatibility with the Venue family. Direct connection to Pro Tools LE allows the user to record events and also perform Virtual Soundcheck.

Channel control provides access, visualization and also allows adjustment of each parameter with the press of a single button and in addition, the new group color coding allows immediate access during mixing. The central “Flex Channel” channel allows immediate access to any input considered vital, such as the lead singer's microphone, without having to change layers.

Another interesting function is that when selecting a VCA or a group, all the inputs related to it appear in the adjacent channels without having to search for them through the different layers, making mixing easier and faster.

All Venue systems, including the new SC48, Mix Rack, Profile and D-Show use the same D-Show software so users can use their “Show Files” on any of the systems interchangeably.

SC48 features a Pro Tools LE FireWire interface, making it easy to connect to a computer (available separately) with Pro Tools LE software (included with SC48) for recording and archiving live shows or for audio playback. With Venue and Pro Tools you can also perform virtual soundchecks – a process that allows you to play recorded tracks from a previous performance and adjust the mix before the current rehearsal or performance without the band or artists being present.

Powerful innovations in the workflow

SC48 introduces various new features aimed at optimizing the workflow. Using exclusive Channel Control, the simple press of a button will give you immediate access and control over the function of any channel, including input, EQ and dynamics parameters, and Aux sends, using the console's eight color rotary encoders. Use the exclusive Flex Channel in latch mode to assign and gain permanent access to a specific channel, so you never lose sight of the star of the show. Take advantage of VCA Spill, which provides unprecedented access to specific channels in a mix without having to scroll through banks. And maximize your efficiency by using GPI (General Purpose Interface) I/O and D-Show software to create custom macros, allowing you to perform multiple functions with the touch of a button, step on a pedal, or move a fader.

A software platform

All Venue systems operate under a common software platform – D-Show software, the most complete and easy-to-use control application in the industry. D-Show software sets new levels of efficiency in operation and workflow by providing instant access and absolute control over any system function.
