Ross Video completes its cable camera portfolio with acquisition of EagleEye (sec.swiss)
EagleEye from sec.swiss (swiss electronic creation), a brand of cable camera systems for both television studios and major sports productions, is now part of a Ross-Video portfolio that completes its Spidercam series, bringing more possibilities to the broadcast industry.
With this strategic move, Ross-Video is looking to enhance its motion systems portfolio with an even broader set of “creative solutions” ready to bring the “immersive views” of cable cameras to more types of productions. Karen Walker, vice president of camera motion systems and general manager of Spidercam at Ross Video, said: “This acquisition allows us to address the growing demand for cable camera systems with a versatile offering that can cater to both rental and purchase models By integrating sec.swiss’s technology, we’re not only expanding on the spidercam range but also reinforcing our ability to provide scalable solutions for our clients’ most ambitious productions.”
With the acquisition of the sec.swiss brand, users will have access to modular systems suited to broadcast, cinema and live event environments. Specifically, Ross Video will offer 1D systems for vertical movement in the studio; 2D systems for horizontal and vertical shots in sports and events; and 3D systems for dynamic aerial shots in complex productions.
David Ross, head of Ross-Video, said after the acquisition: “Cable cameras really bring the audience into the event with camera angles, shots and motion you just can’t achieve in any other way. Now having EagleEye as part of our portfolio, Ross will be able to offer this creative option to an even broader range of clients.”
David Ryner, co-founder and CEO of sec.swiss, adds: “This move amplifies what we’ve built at sec.swiss, combining our expertise with Ross Video’s resources and vision for growth. It’s an exciting future for our customers, partners, and the entire aerial camera industry.”
EagleEye solutions, which will be available for both purchase and rental, will begin manufacturing at Ross’ Canadian facility, expanding its scope and scale of operation in the process.
