Matrox Video Vion ConvertIP Puertas de enlace IP Gateway

Aiming to consolidate its position in the IP video gateway market, Matrox-Video has introduced its new Matrox Vion product series and has decided to upgrade the Matrox ConvertIP DSH SMPTE ST 2110 and IPMX transceiver to help address the growing complexity of IP video workflows in broadcast and ProAV environments.

Vion is defined as a compact, IT-inspired gateway designed to handle both on-premise and cloud-based IP video gateway workflows. Vion supports real-time encoding, decoding, transcoding and conversion of multiple compressed and baseband formats, including H.264/HEVC, JPEG-XS, ST 2110, IPMX and NDI, and is available in two versions: NX and EX, a model that offers additional SDI and HDMI inputs.

The system additionally supports the HEVC 4:4:4 codec; can work in ST 2110-22, IPMX and JPEG XS environments; enables instant preview of content locally with HDMI and audio outputs; and provides multiple simultaneous, bi-directional streams with advanced multi-channel encoding, decoding, transcoding and cross-conversion.

ConvertIP: IP to IP

Matrox Video has also previewed the key features of ConvertIP DSH Release 2.04, a solution that introduces an IP-to-IP bridging feature that enables conversion between compressed and uncompressed formats such as ST 2110-20, ST 2110-22 and IPMX. In this way, Matrox Video notes, ConvertIP DSH becomes an “even more versatile” solution for IP video conversion.

Spiro Plagakis, Matrox Video’s vice president of product management, supports the company’s commitment to delving deeper into the IP world: “Vion and the new ConvertIP update represent strategic advancements in AV and broadcast technology. By supporting open standards, offering comprehensive protocol conversion, and delivering high-performance encoding and bridging options, these devices empower users to seamlessly adapt their IP workflows, whether on-premises or in cloud environments.”
