Riedel continues its IP focus with acquisition of SDNsquare
SDNsquare, a provider of software-defined networking solutions for IP-based multimedia installations, has been acquired by Riedel.
With this deal, Riedel is looking to further invest in technology expertise around the growing business of live IP networks and infrastructures. More specifically, the German firm is expanding into the field of real-time IP network orchestration Und SDN (Software Defined Networking) control, thus enriching its growing range of video solutions.
Rik Hoerée, CEO of Riedel’s product division, defines SDNsquare as an “innovator” when it comes to “software-defined network orchestration in media”. Hoerée shares that Riedel is excited to welcome the SDNsquare team, as well as to “integrate their technology into our future products, and grow its capabilities to help make IP simple for our customers.”
Henry Alexander, CEO of SDNsquare, confirmed that the SDNsquare team will be integrated with the Riedel R&D and customer success division, as well as continuing to work from its offices in Ghent, Belgium. From that location SDNsquare has been able to bring its IP technology to numerous IP-based projects at sporting events such as the Tokyo Olympics, Roland Garros and the European Athletics Championships in Munich.
