Synamedia boosts Synamedia Go discovery capabilities with acquisition of Utelly
Utelly, a platform provider of a content discovery solution, has been acquired by Synamedia. Its offering includes metadata aggregation, search and recommendations, as well as content management and a content promotion engine.
Der Utelly solution simplifies the complexity of content discovery for users across TV channels, on-demand and multiple streaming services. Its SaaS-based technology is already pre-integrated into the Synamedia Go video platform and will now be integrated into the Go.Aggregate add-on package to solve one of the main challenges viewers face: finding content on TV and in apps on any screen. The Utelly technology achieves this through metadata aggregation, intelligent asset linking, AI and machine learning.
Utelly aggregates real-time data from multiple metadata providers, pre-integrated with Gracenote, TiVo, IMDB, Netflix and 50 other services. By unifying data and using AI to enrich disparate data sets, Utelly provides customers with search and recommendations that enhance viewers’ content discovery experience. The result is an increase in customers’ Net Promoter Score (NPS), subscriber retention and ARPU.
This acquisition strengthens the Synamedia Go offering and underlines a new phase of investment in Synamedia’s portfolio of SaaS streaming solutions, which also includes Synamedia Clarissa, Synamedia Iris, VIVID Workflow as a Service Und Synamedia OTT ServiceGuard.
Paul Segre, CEO of Synamedia, believes that thanks to Utelly’s solution, the company will be able to “eliminate the complexity of combining data from multiple metadata providers””. His counterpart at Utelly, Romain Eude, is looking forward to “the next step in Utelly’s journey as it becomes part of the Synamedia family”.
