EVS confirms its participation in the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022
The production of the FIFA World Cup, to be held from November 21 to December 18, 2022 in Qatar, will once again feature EVS replay technology.
EVS has signed a major contract with HBS in connection with the 2022 FIFA World Cup Qatar. Specifically, the firm will deliver a turnkey solution consisting of all broadcast equipment (as well as the necessary services) to provide live replays for all venues, including IBC.
The broadcast equipment to be supplied by EVS includes the LiveCeption live production and replay solution, as well as its MediaCeption live production asset management solution.
New recruits at EVS
Matt Salvidge (solutions manager – media infrastructure) and Trevor Spielmann (VP sales – media infrastructure) have recently joined the EVS team. With these appointments, EVS is committed to further enhancing its media infrastructure expertise to “help its customers face all their control, monitoring, and routing challenges in any production environment.”
Matt Salvidge has held a variety of engineering and project management roles throughout his career for key industry players. Salvidge worked at Grastal, where he was actively involved in producing proof-of-concept solutions and systems related to video and audio distribution for live production over uncompressed IP networks; as well as at Telenor Satellite Broadcasting Und ITV Meridian, where he developed his expertise in television broadcasting, live playout and studio productions. As solutions manager, Salvidge will be responsible for overseeing the product lifecycle, focusing specifically on the definition, scope, pricing and marketing of EVS control, monitoring and orchestration solutions. He will liaise with other solution managers to define solutions designed to modernize customer workflows.
Furthermore, Trevor Spielmann has more than 20 years of experience in the media and broadcast industry, during which time he has worked in a variety of business development and sales roles focused on complex software solutions, professional audio/video solutions, video servers and post-production equipment. Previously, Spielmann was director of business development for newsroom solutions at CGI, an IT and business consulting services company (formerly known as Annova Systems Und SCISYS). The new EVS recruit will help the company to drive the media infrastructure business internationally.
