Dalet Flex upgrades with more production and search tools
Der Das Tal solution for managing complete workflows and service license agreements, Dalet Flex, is updated with numerous enhancements.
Dalet Flex, the media logistics platform used by brands, sports and media outlets to deliver content to audiences, continues to enhance its proposition to address all the needs of the media industry. The platform, whose business model is flexibel and based on SaaS Und subscriptions, has recently received a new update that seeks to simplify the management of content production and delivery.
Among the major enhancements in the latest version of Dalet Flex is an upgrade to FlexXTEND for tight compatibility with Adobe Premiere Pro. This enhancement introduces a revamped user experience that makes FlexMAM’s advanced search capabilities available to editors. Using FlexXTEND, users can trigger rendering of their Adobe Premiere Pro sequence to a remote media encoder, minimizing media moves and freeing up their local system for continued use.
Thanks to this system, content creators will be able to organize sequences in Dalet Flex and easily share them with other Dalet Flex users or send them directly to Adobe Premiere Pro or Begeistert Medienkomponist for further editing.
Searching and assigning assets
Another Dalet Flex enhancement, called “controlled vocabulary,” comes to bring greater efficiency to content categories, making content easier to search and share. Keys such as permission management in tag collections, thesaurus support Und taxonomy enhancements will help users more quickly mark the content they need for their productions.
This enhanced offering is exemplified by additional search operations (e.g., “Contains,” “Starts with,” or “Ends with”) and user interface enhancements that aim to make it easier for users to create and view more specific search queries. Users can now refine permissions to make their searches visible to other users or groups, making collaboration easier.
Also central to this update are the new Dalet Flex quotas, which allow administrators to define concurrency limits on actions and workflows. In this way, productions can optimize costs and efficiency by dynamically sizing their infrastructure to seamlessly support bursts of resource needs thanks to Kubernetes’ support for media processing services in the cloud infrastructure.
The future of Dalet Flex
Dalet has revealed that further enhancements to Dalet Flex will be coming over the next six months, including new reporting tools for billing and consumption costs in the cloud, as well as support for additional languages within FlexMAM. In addition, a new mobile application for search and content management will also arrive, as well as enhanced SaaS offerings for multiple users.
Mathieu Zarouk, director of product strategy and media workflows at Dalet, appreciates the relevance of Dalet Flex for its customers in particular, and the audiovisual industry in general: “As the media ecosystem evolves, it becomes more complex and a real challenge to navigate for many. Dalet Flex sits at the intersection, offering customers a single source of truth that enables them to effectively manage complex workflows and service license agreements (SLAs) that may involve multiple media packages going to a wide range of destinations. We continue to modernize our offerings, responding to industry and customers’ needs on mobility, flexibility, and agility. Our roadmap is focused on enabling users to efficiently power their multimedia content supply chains with high availability, resilience, quality, and security.”
