NAB Show officially cancels 2021 edition and invites industry to April 2022 event
After a complex few days in which major broadcast companies decided not to exhibit at NAB Show 2021, the organization of the Las Vegas event has officially canceled the show.
In an official statement, Chris Brown, executive vice president and director of the NAB events area, has pointed to”the pandemic and the surge of the Delta variant” as the main causes of the “unexpected and insurmountable challenges” that have led to the cancellation of the fair.
Despite having been “working tirelessly for over a year to bring our industry together safely and securely in Las Vegas,” NAB Show has made this decision while maintaining “the interest and safety of the industry” as its priority. In Brown’s own words, “NAB Show is the premiere destination for the media and entertainment industry and we will not move forward with a show that delivers anything less than the excellence our community has come to expect and deserves from us”.
With NAB Show 2021 now cancelled, the North American organization is looking ahead to the 2022 edition of the show, scheduled for April 23-27, which Brown said will serve “to reignite our passion for our business and focus on a bright future ahead.”
