Xiamen TV unveils new 4K mobile unit, equipped with Ross Video solutions
Ross-Video products such as Carbonite and Ultrix are key parts of Chinese broadcaster Xiamen TV’s new 4K OB truck.
With an audience of some ten million viewers, Xiamen TV broadcasts over five main channels and serves the southeastern Chinese port city of Xiamen as well as the surrounding region within Fujian province. For the people of Xiamen, one of the sporting highlights of the year is the annual marathon, which has become the most famous in China.
This year’s race, credited as an elite road race of world athletics, was held on April 10 and attracted twelve thousand competitors. As expected, the event was broadcast live on Xiamen TV, which commissioned a new 4K UHD OB truck specifically for the 2021 race. Ross solutions are at the core of this new vehicle, with the Carbonite production switcher and Ultrix AV routing/processing platform performing video switching and signal processing tasks; and a combination of openGear Und NK routing products.
