Blackmagic brings EF mount and a 6K sensor to its new Studio Camera 6K Pro broadcast camera
The new السحر الأسود Studio Camera 6K Pro expands the Studio Camera range with EF mount, 6K sensor and direct internet streaming via Ethernet or mobile data.
تصميم بلاك ماجيك continues to improve its range of cameras for broadcast applications with the Studio Camera 6K Pro, a tool that aims to offer all kinds of solutions in a “compact and portable” design. Thanks to its colourimetry and wide dynamic range, the Studio Camera 6K Pro is ready to deliver remarkable performance in challenging lighting conditions, supported by its maximum ISO value of 25,600. Similarly, the camera’s 6K sensor and its fifth-generation Blackmagic colourimetry means that the same technology as digital cinema cameras is available to the operator, as well as colour grading functions that can be controlled from a mixer.
The Studio Camera 6K Pro’s 13-stop dynamic range provides deeper blacks and brighter whites that are ideal for colour grading. With resolutions of 3840 x 2160 and 6144 x 3456 respectively, the 4K and 6K versions allow the camera to be used in both HD and UHD productions. It is also worth noting that all models in this line-up support frame rates between 23.98 f/s and 60 f/s.
Similarly, thanks to the popular EF or Micro Four Thirds mount, Blackmagic Studio Camera models are compatible with a wide range of photographic lenses. In order to avoid having to extend the arm to adjust the lens manually, it is possible to install controls for changing focus and focal length from the tripod handles, just as on larger studio cameras. In this way, Blackmagic points out, the “same experience” is achieved as with a more expensive B4 lens.
In addition, the Blackmagic Pocket Cinema Camera 6K Pro includes neutral density filters that can be controlled remotely and quickly reduce the amount of light the camera captures. Designed specifically for the camera’s colourimetry, these 2-, 4- and 6-step filters provide significant latitude even in adverse lighting conditions. The filters filter out optical and infrared waves uniformly to prevent image contamination. They can also be electronically controlled remotely from the programmable buttons on the back of the camera or the focus and focal length control devices.
Connectivity and broadcasting
The launch of the Studio Camera 6K Pro is accompanied by the immediate availability of the Blackmagic Studio Camera 4K Pro G2, which improves on its predecessor by adding new interconnectivity and web streaming capabilities. Both models include اتصالات SDI to facilitate communication between the switcher operator and cameramen during live event broadcasts, and a five-pin XLR connector for communication is located on the side of the camera and is compatible with all types of professional headphones.
The Blackmagic Studio Camera 4K Pro G2 and 6K Pro, which feature 12G SDI, 10GBASE-T and XLR connectivity for balanced audio signals, also feature 10G Ethernet technology, which makes it easy to transmit all signals over a single connection using 6A copper cable.
Thanks to this remote connection via the Internet, the Blackmagic Studio Camera 4K Pro G2 and 6K Pro models allow live broadcasting from anywhere in the world. In this case, the unit generates an H.264 HD signal that is transmitted to the studio via the Internet. Simply connect the camera’s Ethernet port to the Internet or a 4G or 5G phone to the USB-C port to use mobile data for the transmission link.
