Haivision تدخل سوق أجهزة الإرسال المحمولة من خلال الاستحواذ على Aviwest
Aviwest, a company specialising in mobile broadcast systems (including 5G-enabled backpacks), has been acquired by هايفيجن.
With the acquisition of Aviwest, هايفيجن seeks to provide a complete portfolio of video contribution solutions to address the growing demand for high quality live video content in broadcast, sports and live event production.
This major acquisition of Haivision is seen by the company itself as the “combination of two industry leaders” when it comes to low latency video contribution. هايفيجن presents itself as the “leading provider” of “wired” low latency video networks, while Aviwest occupies the same position, but from the “wireless”sector.
Haivision believes that, through this move, it will be able to take advantage of all cross-selling opportunities between the companies’ highly complementary offerings; incorporate the Aviwest proprietary network link technology into the Haivision products, exploiting the SRT و SST protocols; significantly expand the Aviwest sales presence in the North American market; gain long-term product development efficiencies in video encoding, cloud connectivity and network management; achieve operational synergies in supply chain management, production, 24/7 global support, sales and marketing; establish the Haivision second worldwide development facility in France, making Europe home to more than half of Haivision’s development team; and expand its global workforce to more than 400 employees.
Transaction highlights
هايفيجن will acquire 100% of the shares of Aviwest, on a cash and debt free basis, for a cash consideration of EUR 20.5 million (approximately CAD 29.6 million), subject to customary adjustments. Aviwest had revenues of approximately EUR 10.5 million (approximately CAD 15.1 million) in 2021. The closing is conditional upon the satisfaction or waiver of all closing conditions and the receipt of certain approvals, including obtaining the advisory opinion of the Aviwest works council (employee representatives) as required by French law, all of which are expected to be received within 30 days. The acquisition is expected to have positive effects by the end of second quarter.
Mirko Wicha, president and CEO of هايفيجن, believes that with the addition of Aviwest, “Haivision will now lead in both fixed and mobile networks in providing ultra-low latency video solutions. We are very excited to welcome the amazing team at Aviwest and its customers to the Haivision family, and to provide broadcasters globally a trusted and proven vendor to solve their video contribution challenges.”
Ronan Pullaouec, CTO and co-founder of Aviwest, said: “Together with Haivision, our solutions will bring customers maximum live video flexibility with ultra-low latency, highly reliable network connectivity, and pristine video quality. With sub-200ms glass-to-glass latency over 5G networks, our solutions are revolutionizing remote production workflows by giving broadcasters more options for contributing real-time content for premium live events and sports coverage.”
