New Matrox ConvertIP for SMPTE ST 2110 monitoring now available
Matrox Video is now shipping the first units of the SMPTE ST 2110 ConvertIP converters, designed for HD/4K broadcast monitoring.
The ConvertIP converters offer broad flexibility for monitoring operations by supporting uncompressed HD/4K and JPEG-XS video over 10 GbE and 25 GbE ST 2110 networks.
The ConvertIPs also feature a fanless design and a dedicated media port for 2022-7 redundancy support, which “guarantees” smooth, continuous operation and maximum uptime. In addition, these devices include different PoE+ and PSU power options, as well as host a separate control network port for in-band or out-of-band operations for greater integration flexibility.
Recently, ConvertIP has successfully passed SMPTE ST 2110-22 and NMOS/JT-NM TR-1001 specification testing, certifying to broadcasters that ConvertIP can seamlessly interoperate in multi-vendor ST 2110 ecosystems.
Daniel Maloney, Matrox Video technical marketing manager, details the environments that will benefit from the new Matrox ConvertIP: “Broadcasters managing SMPTE ST 2110 infrastructures are looking for an easier approach to broadcast monitoring, and Matrox ConvertIP does just that. Whether using SDI or HDMI displays, working with 10 GbE or 25 GbE networks, or pursuing reliable 4K and HD workflows, ConvertIP provides broadcasters with the industry’s most flexible, robust, and feature-rich—including PoE+ and independent network control port connectivity—ST 2110 monitoring appliance.”
