The AJA OG-Hi5-4K-Plus, OG-HA5-4K and OG-12GM openGear cards have received, among other enhancements, long-awaited 12-bit support in a firmware update.
AJA Video Systems has launched new firmware updates that bring significant improvements to its openGear cards, which have been designed to address all signal conversion needs: broadcast, production, post-production, live events…
The OG-Hi5-4K-Plus v1.7.4 firmware update adds new 12-bit SDI workflow support and HDMI sync performance improvements to the 3G-SDI to HDMI 2.0 conversion card. In addition, v1.7.2 for OG-HA5-4K enables EDID (Extended Display Identification Data) to report support for 2 channels of non-PCM audio with the 4K/UltraHD/2K/HD/SD HDMI 2.0 to 3G-SDI conversion card. In addition, the OG-12GM v1.3.3 and OG-HA5-4K v1.7.2 firmware updates introduce several performance enhancements to the cards.
Nick Rashby, president of AJA, believes these updates “are a reflection of our efforts”. “As demand for openGear technology continues to grow, we continue to upgrade our production-proven lineup of 12G-SDI and 4K/UHD openGear cards to support the most rigorous workflows and up-to-date industry standards,” he said.
