Broadcast Solutions will introduce its entire portfolio of solutions from the largest outdoor stand at IBC
From an indoor and a large outdoor stand, Broadcast Solutions will use IBC 2022 to present its latest developments and projects.
The show, which will take place from 9 to 12 September at the RAI in Amsterdam, will be used by Broadcast Solutions to showcase projects such as the latest full trailer mobile unit for the Norwegian production service provider DMC or the mobile unit that its partner TVC Solutions integrated for the Estonian public broadcaster ETT.
Other highlights include the audiovisual infrastructure installed at the Nokia Arena Tampere (Finland) or the virtual studio of KPEDU Media with Zero Density solutions, both integrated by Broadcast Solutions Nordic.
Thum + Mahr, a German systems integration company that joined the group in 2022, will also play a central role. Visitors to the stands will be able to discover the wide range of services offered by this German company, as well as the other international companies that are part of Broadcast Solutions.
VAR and Broadcast Solutions
One of the areas in which Broadcast Solutions has specialised in recent years is the integration of VAR systems for different sports and leagues around the world, either in fixed installations or as mobile solutions.
One of the company’s latest projects, which can be discovered in depth at IBC 2022, is the implementation of VAR systems for the Association of Football Federations of Azerbaijan (AFFA), which has become a FIFA-certified VAR system user with the help of Broadcast Solutions’ systems. To undertake this project, several VAR rooms were implemented in the Baku Olympic Stadium, as well as VAR systems in a mobile unit for stadiums not connected to BAKU’s VAR centre via a dedicated fibre line.
Months earlier, Broadcast Solutions delivered two additional VAR units and mobile video operations rooms to the Cameroon Football Association and CAF. This delivery follows the deployment of mobile VAR and VARVOR solutions delivered by Broadcast Solutions in early 2021 for the 2020 African Nations Championship, also known as the Championnat d’Afrique des Nations or CHAN, which took place in 2021. All matches of the 2022 Africa Cup of Nations were under video refereeing surveillance with VAR systems supplied by Broadcast Solutions. Cameroon now uses six VARVOR solutions designed and deployed by Broadcast Solutions.
Finally, Broadcast Solutions developed the Streamline OBVAR concept, whereby live production and VAR services are operated from a single unified mobile platform. Designed explicitly for four-to-eight camera game coverage, this OB van houses the gallery, VOR and uplink capabilities. This integrated platform dramatically reduces costs and accelerates field deployments for service providers.
Product development
Broadcast Solutions not only excels in system integration for mobile units, fixed installations, studios and MCRs, but also runs its own product development departments. Several of our product innovations will be on display at IBC 2022.
One example is hi human interface, defined as the “first truly intuitive control software” for the broadcast world. The system aims to serve as a “seamless link” between man and machine. In this way, it becomes “an assistant” that “guides users through the once complex process of workflow design and signal management in broadcast and media facilities”. Hi human interface, which will have a separate stand at IBC 2022, stands out for its intuitive operation, graphical interface and focus on essentiality over complexity.
Also new from Broadcast Solutions at IBC is the meshLINK wireless transmission system, which provides state-of-the-art video encoding, full-duplex IP and Mesh networking as a “truly robust and simple” system. Features include super-low latency (up to 45ms in HD and 75ms in 4K); 1 to 4 channels of HD encoding (4 channels coming soon) on a single frequency; and a decisive commitment to IP.
Finally, from its outdoor stand, Broadcast Solutions will share all the news from Birds Camera Solutions, “modern and cutting-edge” cable camera systems with which its users can produce “impressive 3D images” for their live TV production. All systems are equipped with gyro-stabilised remote heads that allow camera movements on all axes and feature native augmented reality options.
