Dalet expands and enhances the cloud capabilities of AmberFin
The Dalet AmberFin transcoding solution has recently been upgraded to include important new features in the cloud and integration with other Dalet solutions.
Following the successful completion of the foundational technical review of Amazon Web Services (AWS), Dalet AmberFin consolidates its position as a solution that ensures customers have the “agility and power” they need to manage through workload bursts with ease, while optimising cloud costs. Within the cloud realm, the newly updated Dalet AmberFin Kiosk, which is macOS compatible and offers greater support for formats such as ProRes RAW and NEF, will help users download and back up large amounts of content.
Using cloud storage, it simultaneously verifies content integrity and enriches metadata so that content is organised and ready to power other operational workflows with ease. This new capability is especially useful for teams travelling to locations for long production shoots. Improvements to the processing pipeline leverage Netflix Photon’s validation tools to enable key IMF workflows in the cloud.
Other production efficiency improvements include support for UHD input and output with a standard transcoding node and support for ABR DASH and HLS packet writing while ingesting content.
Integration with other Dalet solutions
The latest version of Dalet AmberFin also features “seamless integration” with the Dalet Flex and Dalet Pyramid media logistics platforms. New transcoding capabilities that elevate the user experience, along with the successful completion of the foundational Amazon Web Services (AWS) technical review, aim to cement the Dalet AmberFin cloud excellence, “keeping it at the forefront of conversion innovation and leading scalable media processing technology to preserve artistic intent,” according to the company itself.
Patrick Devlin, product manager for Dalet AmberFin, sums up all the keys to this upgrade: “This release threads the recognized Dalet AmberFin conversion quality and media processing technology across our flagship SaaS solutions, Dalet Flex and Dalet Pyramid. As a critical pillar of these solutions, Dalet AmberFin bridges the gap for Dalet customers who need a fully cloud-native media ecosystem with proven end-to-end production and distribution workflows that can support any existing or emerging market vertical.”
In parallel, Dalet has reconfirmed its development plans, which involves the complete transformation to a SaaS model of all its cloud-native solutions by 2022.
