Genelec unveils G Innovation Lab, its new R&D laboratory
G Innovation Lab, Genelec’s new R&D laboratory, opens its doors in Kuopio, Finland.
Genelec has emphasized that the main objectives of this infrastructure are to foster creativity and entrepreneurship in the Savilahti region of the country, as well as to attract imaginative professionals to the area. The firm aims to recruit a team of “start-up” minded individuals to further develop the “innovative thinking” that has helped inspire the company’s technical breakthroughs over the past four decades.
The G Innovation Lab, which will open its doors this August at the KPY Novapolis Microkatu business center, will host professionals with a deep shared interest in the audio industry starting in the fall. The location of the lab has been chosen to facilitate even closer cooperation with universities and educational institutions in the region, something Genelec has long valued and encouraged.
Pitch event at the G Innovation Lab
To kick off the G Innovation Lab recruitment process, the Discovery Event Pitch Challenge will take place on August 23 and 24. This hybrid live and online event has been organized by Genelec in collaboration with Finnish “talent pool” experts Pondi. At this event, job seekers and entrepreneurs will have the opportunity to present their ideas to a panel of Genelec personalities.
Genelec CEO Siamäk Naghian emphasizes the value of innovation in their corporate culture: “The ongoing transformation in our society, technology, industries, and audio community is profound and extremely exciting. Our own success as a company has always been fuelled by individuals determined to push the boundaries of their imagination, and we see the G Innovation Lab as an essential vehicle for unleashing the hidden creative potential existing in our local community, and attracting new talent to the region.”
